details:
This refined sack dress could easily have appeared on the cover of Vogue magazine, 1958. Based on the famous Balenciaga silhouette, it combines narrow lines with a puffed, theatrical, belted back.
Straight, fitted front has fabric-covered metal buttons and a sharp-edged collar. The back dramatically uses deep pleating for a backwards puff silhouette, and shows off a loose, low sway of half-belt over the fitted rump.
Made of a slubby navy textile that is either light-weight double-cocoon-reeled silk or an imitation-doupioni rayon.
A Carl Naftal Originals of California.
